NothingProjector’s current Black Series Slimline listing specifies 0.6 gain, 180° viewing angle, 84–120-inch sizing and a stated 95% ambient-light rejection figure.
Those percentages are manufacturer claims and are not directly comparable unless tested under the same method. Treat them as product-positioning data, not a laboratory head-to-head.
What should decide the purchase
Because the form factor is almost identical, practical details become more important: housing dimensions, availability in your region, warranty terms, control options, installation documentation and the exact drop needed for your room. Measure the cassette length and the deployed image position before focusing on small differences in headline specifications.
The VIVIDSTORM product has a long track record as a dedicated drop-down UST model and offers black or white housing options in the current retailer listing. The NothingProjector Black Series may appeal to buyers already shopping that brand’s broader screen ecosystem. Neither choice avoids the need for precise UST alignment.
Do not over-read viewing-angle numbers
A listed 170° versus 180° viewing angle looks decisive in a table but should not be the main buying criterion. Real-world perceived brightness and color at extreme angles depend on material structure, room lighting and projector placement. Most seating is far closer to the center axis than the edge of a 170° viewing cone.
Best fit by room
Choose based on the actual installation problem. If you want the VIVIDSTORM ecosystem, its PRO/PRO A naming makes projector orientation explicit. If your priority is the NothingProjector Black Series material family, its matching floor-rising and fixed-frame options may make a future room change easier to keep within one screen family.
